I didnt know I needed this article as much as I do. I will introspect and see what is in my joy and recharge list. Writing it down will be good for me. Thanks for creating the template!

I finally read this post, and wouldn't you know it, it was during a time of rest --like crazy, I've done nothing but sleep for the last several days-- kind of rest. My daughter was married on Saturday. It has been many weeks of extrovertedness for this very introverted mama of five. My husband, of 32+ years, was like...honey, why can't you find the joy in all we've celebrated? I assured him I loved each and every moment of the planning, celebrating, and my daughter made the most beautiful, of beautiful brides. But, I felt like I was out of joy. I've spend the last couple of days, trying to find joy. Barefoot in the grass. Soulful music. Sauna sessions. But, to no avail. I just wanted to sleep --and those around me were concerned by my melancholiness. Now, after reading this post, it makes perfect sense! As a Manifestor, I. need a RECHARGE list! You have no idea how much this post has lightened and lifted my soul!! Joy is a beautiful thing! Gratitude is so essential....but some us, like me, really need to own a Recharge list, too!

Ahh this makes me SO happy to read. Yes, I think it's hard for us sacrals to sometimes understand that "joy" isn't the end-all-be-all. And that it doesn't give everyone the same sense of satisfaction. As a manifestor, REST is your fuel!!! (For generators/MG's, JOY is fuel). So keep leaning in and honoring what your body needs right now and don't let anyone make you feel like there's anything "wrong" with that.

Amazing idea! I'm an Generator and have been pondering this concept of a joy list, so thank you for the mini prompts and nudge to make it a reality. Will definitely be using this to boost my morning routines. I've got making fun breakfasts with the reggaeton or salsa on LOUD, mini walks in the sun with a podcast (I live in London so need to grab the sun when it appears) and starting the day off with yoga or movement ❤️

Breakfast with a side of salsa (the dance, not the sauce) sounds like such an amazing vibe to start the day with!!!

I love this post! My recharge list includes sitting in nature near water, walking in nature, journaling in nature (do we see a theme here😂), taking a magnesium bath, taking a nap, and writing.❤️

I grew up in LA near the beach, and the ocean is truly my happy place. But now I’m living in the Rockey Mts, so I seek out hikes with water as much as possible. Water brings me so much joy and recharge!! I can’t wait for summer and lots of swimming!!

Ohh yes, I feel like spring is in the air so summer isn't too far off!! ALthough magnesium baths in the meantime to get your water-fix sound heavenly too.

Love this! My New Year’s resolution (read gift to myself) was to embrace this idea. I’ve spent so much life doing for others. So far, I’ve done several items EVERY day! I hope this encourages others to do the same!

I love this idea - I definitely need a recharge list to stop me doing stuff all the time!

Ok! As a mangen, the two steps that seem to elevate this for me are 1. Writing down and 2. Looking at the physical list when an invitation comes in. I constantly wait for a better offer. I can see this practice help me weed through decisions. Thanks for the great content!

I love this idea. I’ve started to create my list. My recharge list includes:

Yoga

Meditation

Walking outside

Long, lazy bike rides

Self care-dry brushing

Self care-epilating

Talking to my bestie

I can’t wait to leverage this list and to see it evolve over time.

Alexandra! First of all, I feel this in my bones! I call all those tasks that chip away at our already fleeting time the “I’m just gonna’s”. I’m just gonna switch the wash real quick. I’m just gonna respond to that teacher email. I’m just gonna change sheets. Clean up breakfast. Put on my grocery order. And in and on. So this is brilliant. Thank you for sharing. It IS important and should be a priority!

I love this tweaked language from the shame of "I should" to the pride of "I'm just gonna". I hear this in my head all the time. Writing this one down!

Fantastic post, Alex! I'm a projector, and some items you mentioned, inspired by conversations with your non-sacral clients, are already on my list. Journaling and a short yoga session from the YouTube channel Yogi in Melbourne are also on my recharge list. I love this exercise. Thanks for sharing this info!

I'm so glad you found this helpful! And those recharge list items sound absolutely heavenly. Why do yogis in Australia always hit the spot in a way others don't?!

Love this idea so much, and I feel like having a very obvious list that I can see will help me move through the overwhelming of what I ‘could’ do! Xx

Alexandra Cole's avatar

Yes exactly!! It sounds so obvious, AND YET without the list, I too easily default to all the "shoulds". A list takes the mental effort out of it.

I am a 1/3 sacral generator and I’ve been keeping a joy calendar to track what is bringing me joy every day. This will be my source for my joy list once I have some more ideas!

This is so helpful. I definitely fall into the trap of feeling the need to "make the most" of any time alone, then wasting much of it just trying to figure out what to do or randomly picking something and have it feel unsatisfying, even though I do really enjoy that activity, it's just brought down by feeling like I could do "better". Having a list is such a good idea, and the intention of I will never feel guilty using something from this list to enjoy a free hour is awesome.

Alexandra Cole's avatar

Yes, exactly! It's kind of crazy that we're so conditioned to be "productive" that we need a list to allow ourselves to prioritize joy BUT I've found it makes a big difference. For some reason, it being on a "list" makes me feel like it's a good/valid use of my time.

OMG, I've had this idea for some time now.. so glad to have it validated!! I've been listing things that I feel help me wind down/relax/recharge and since I'm recovering from burn out I'm starting to try this soon! thank you so much for this!

Oh I love that your intuition was already leading you down this path. What are some of the things on your list so far?!

I'm a Projector, so my go-to or fav items in my recharge list are:

- taking a nap

- taking a shower

- watching funny vids or my fav tv shows

- lying down/sitting up n scrolling socmed/reading articles/posts (risk of doom scrolling, yes, but my IG feed/stories/explore are curated) or reading a book/ebook/manga etc if I'm in the mood

- playing with my cats/kittens for a bit

and some others lol there's a lot 😂 for some time I had this belief that I shouldn't do too much of some of the above coz they're a waste of time BUT after learning HD I came to realise that these actually contribute to my well-being immensely n only then I can be productive 😂😂

I can relate to this and love the idea of a joy list! I also tend to hit my to do list and sacrifice other things I love to do - until my husband forces me. Ready for a walk? Wanna take a ride on the gravel and go explore?

Gonna work on this one!
