Welcome to Chart Chats, where I invite fellow Substackers to tumble down the human design rabbit hole with me. Picture it like friends catching up over coffee, chatting about the newest spiritual trend they’re obsessed with — and you get to be a fly on the wall! The intention is to deliver some quick, perhaps life-changing ahas to my guests, while also inspiring you to discover new things about your own design.
Thank you to all of you who tuned into my Substack Live with Jess from !
I was introduced to Jess by a mutual friend and instantly fell in love with her fun-filled, no-B.S. approach to life and parenting, as well as her increasingly eclectic style which we have officially dubbed “art teacher core”. I love witnessing Jess live her design so intuitively as the creative manifestor that she is. Perhaps one of the most obvious chart elements, however, is her markets environment which informs everything from the way she works, to the way she dresses, and of course the way she curates her personal space.
Jess is an OG style blogger, who has one of my all-time favorite Substacks (especially if you’re a parent, this is a must read!). Last year, she moved from downtown Chicago to a beautiful 1920’s home in the burbs and launched a brand new venture, Keys at the Fleas, which was inspired by her love of antiquing. She is also an incredible mama to 4-year old June who happens to share her markets environment!
In our chat, we dive into:
How Jess approached designing her new home and who she collaborated with to bring the vision to life
How her internal markets environment manifests in the way she works (and what her husband thinks about it…)
How she combines her emotional authority with a defined spleen when making decisions
How her daughter’s markets environment manifests and their shared love for antiquing
What she prioritizes when selecting AirBnBs or hotels
How her strong sense of smell supports her selectivity when it comes to environments
And so much more!
Here is Jess’s chart for reference:
I’d love to hear what you thought of this Chart Chat, as well as any feedback on how to make these even more supportive for your own journeys!
